Provo, Utah (March 2, 2023) –
CCBank announced today that the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded the bank ‘Preferred Lender Status’, giving the bank’s SBA lending team more authority to process, close, and liquidate SBA-guaranteed loans. By attaining preferred lender status, CCBank can offer businesses throughout the Wasatch Front, southern Utah, and beyond greater efficiency in the SBA loan process from application to close.
“Our mission as a longstanding community bank is to ensure that our business community is provided with the products and services to help them grow and thrive,” explained Dustin Phillips, CCBank’s Chief Lending Officer. “The SBA recognizing our team’s high level of expertise, quality, and successful track record by naming us as a preferred lender gives our business customers a local community banking resource to access these lending options efficiently and effectively.”
CCBank’s SBA lending team includes Brett Smiley, the bank’s SBA lending manager, and Melissa Hurren, vice president and commercial loan officer. Smiley has over 20 years of banking experience—with most of that time in SBA lending—and holding various positions where he originated and managed SBA 7(a) and 504 lending programs. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Utah. Hurren also maintains a successful commercial lending career spanning the past two decades at several community banks in Utah. She also has an Associate of Nursing Degree and worked for eight years as a nurse locally before returning to banking in 2018. In 2021, Hurren joined CCBank to help grow the bank’s SBA department.
“CCBank is committed to playing an important part in the ongoing success of our Utah business community, and we’re so proud of our SBA loan department for achieving this preferred lender designation. This delegated authority granted to us by the SBA enables us to process and close these types of loans more efficiently locally. This will translate to quick decisions paired with personalized, local service for our business clients,” said Mike Watson, CCBank’s Chief Executive Officer.
